Set up Microsoft Exchange Email Account on Android Device

Please choose from the following android devices:

Gmail App
Samsung
HTC
Pixel
Galaxy s8
Setup Outlook for Android


 

Gmail App Set Up

Note: most of the Android devices have default Gmail app installed.

To connect default Gmail app, use the following settings:

  1. Select Exchange > click Exchange and Office 365
  2. Type in your primary email address and your password.
    Note: If you have an Autodiscover record compatible with Exchange server set up, tap Next, and your email account settings automatically. If the settings are populated incorrectly or you do not have that record, tap Manual setup.
  3. Type in the settings. Click Next.
    • Accept the security prompt.
    • Change synchronization scope (We do not recommend to synchronize all the data for big mailboxes).
    • Set the account as default one if you want it to be your reply from the account.
    • Provide the description for the account (optional).
    • Finish the setup by tapping on Next button.

On some Android devices there are only two fields for setting up an Exchange account: Email address and Password. Use the following settings to set up the account:

  • Email address
  • Password
  • Tap Add Account

Enter the Server address in the new field that will appear and change the Email address field to your primary email address. Tap Next to finish the setup.

Note: if the 'Cannot connect to the server' error comes up during configuration, try to switch from Wi-Fi to your mobile network or vice versa.

 


 

Samsung

  1. Open Application drawer from the Home screen by swiping up and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Add Account.
  3. Choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
  4. Type in your primary email address and your password.
    Note: If you have an Autodiscover record compatible with Exchange server set up, tap Next, and your email account settings automatically. If the settings are populated incorrectly or you do not have that record, tap Manual setup.
  5. Type in the settings.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Accept the security prompt.

 


 

HTC

  1. From the Home Screen select Settings.

  2. Choose Accounts & sync > select Add Account option.
  3. Choose Exchange ActiveSync for HTC.
  4. Type in your primary email address and your password.
    Note: If you have an Auto discover record compatible with Exchange server set up, tap Next, and your email account settings automatically. If the settings are populated incorrectly or you do not have that record, tap Manual setup.
  5. Type in the settings.
  6. Click Next.html
  7. Accept the security prompt.

 


 

Pixel

  1. Open Application drawer from the Home screen by swiping up and tap Settings
  2. Tap;Accounts, then Add Account.
  3. Choose Exchange.
  4. Type in your primary email address and your password.
  5. Type in the server settings. You can find all the settings here:
      • Click Next.

      Galaxy s8

      1. Select Samsung from the Home Screen of your Andriod device
      2. Select Email from the App list
      3. Enter your Email address and Password. Select manual setup.
      4. Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
      5. Enter Username and Exchange Server address. Select sign in
      6. Select ok for your organization to remotely manage your device
      7. Select Activate
      8. Your email is now ready to be used on your device

       


       


      Set up Outlook for Android for the first time

      Step 1: Install the Outlook for Android app from the Google Play Store and then open it.

      Tap Get Started if this is your first time.
      Otherwise, to add another email account, open the Menu > Settings> Add Account > Add Email Account. Then skip to step 4 below.

      Step 2: Outlook may detect your Google accounts. To add them to Outlook for Android, tap Google Connect Account and then tap OK to confirm. Tap Allow to give Outlook access to your Contacts.

      Tap OK to give Outlook access to your accounts.

      If you don't want to add these accounts, tap Skip and then go to step 4 under Set up another email account below.

      Step 3: Select the accounts you'd like to add and tap Add Account. You may be asked to sign in.

      Tap Add Account to add your Gmail account to the app

      Tap Allow to confirm offline access and any other prompts.

      Tap Allow to give Outlook offline access.

      To add another email account, tap Continue and go to Step 4, otherwise tap Skip.

       


       

      Set up another email account

      Step 4: Enter your full email address, then tap Continue.

      Note: If you're asked to choose your provider, you'll have to Set up your Exchange manually or set up an IMAP or POP account.

      Enter your email address.

      Step 5: Enter your email account password and tap Sign In or Next.

      Note: The sign in screen may look different for you depending on your email provider.

      Enter your password for your email account.

      Step 6: If multi-factor authentication is enabled, verify your identity.

      Check your text messages and enter the 6 digit code.
